What are Custom attributes?

Custom attributes are a Participant targeting feature of Positly.
They are entirely customisable for whatever need you may have as a researcher.
Most commonly they are used in multi-step studies that only allow certain Participants to participate based on particular attributes about the participant.
For example:
- John has built a program that dynamically assesses what kind of Simpson’s character people match. He wants to have a balanced sample of 100 Participants who match the profile ‘Bart’ and 100 who match the profile ‘Lisa’.
- In this case he would dynamically set Custom attributes using Query string parameters when she redirects participants to her Completion link.
- Jane surveyed hundreds of Mothers about their children and has selected 20 responses for which she wants to run a follow up study.
- In this case she would manually set Custom attributes in the Participants tab within her initial Run.
